Bones for the scavengers rest
I wove tales of the glories of their final hours
On fragile red letters
Watched the light leave their mothers

The end it came soft
All is ash

War is over -
Cast them off into the fire

The sun it still rises for drunkards and lovers
Like no one remembers the night
