And the wind and the wings
And our muscles moved
Through the static truth
In the scattered flowers' home
Headstones rest like windows
Marking chapters
Hiding alabaster bones
And latent, lidded eyes
Atrophied storylines
Truncated captured sighs
I bid the hands to stop and the pulse to die
For life, life can't chase us here.

And the dark and the sheets
And our exhales synced
To the dim lit noise
And the seas of ink
Gone wasted
On what could be said in measures
This is beyond measures that I know
And hollow symphony
Whispered memory
Skin and tongue and cheek
I beg your palm in mine and unspoken pleas
Then time, time can’t waste us here

So it goes, and I know how it ends
But can’t we spin the reels to gaze at how it once began?
If life is anything like this, lay my reluctant shrine
I wouldn’t change a thing, but such a waste of space and time

And the names engraved and the resting place
And the soul bookended by two days it did never see
But remember me by them
Drowning cathedrals call
